Alternative Rock: The first song on the CD, 'This Is Gonna Hurt' is a strong opener, easily the best track on the album and probably the catchiest one they have done so far. The unfortunate part though, is that the rest of the album doesn't quite match up to the tone and level set by the opening cut in terms of drive and intensity. This is probably the biggest pitfall of the album and what prevents it from being a cut above some of the other contemporary/ alternative rock albums of the time. Try as they may to move into a harder-edged direction and up the ante a few notches by adding more musical elements, this album doesn't quite succeed. Having said that, 'No Win Situation' is reminiscent of their earlier work found on 2001's self-titled album. If melody is their comfort zone, then 'Magnolia' and 'Sing What You Can't Say' are pleasant ballads. Additionally, 'You Before Me' and 'No Destination' both just about make the grade.
