The co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs has lived a glorious life. His passion for computers and innovation has provided enough fodder for filmmakers to draw up biopics about him. In 2013, a biographical film, directed by Joshua Michael Stern, titled Jobs, was released. Another 70-minute documentary, compiled from an interview which Steve Jobs had given to Robert X. Cringely, called Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview, has also released post his death. And now there is yet another full-length feature film, inspired from the legend's biography, titled Steve Jobs is all set to release on October 9, 2015.

Like most movies, the cast and crew of Steve Jobs, too, went through several changes. According to a report on ANI, director, David Fincher, had reportedly been dropped from the project over arguments about his hefty fees of $10 million. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button director also wanted control over the marketing aspect of the film and was in negotiations with the studio to re-team with The Social Network writer, Aaron Sorkin, and producer, Scott Rudin, the Hollywood Reporter stated. The same could not be fulfilled, following which he was dropped from the project and Danny Boyle was roped in.

When David Fincher had the reins of this ambitious movie, Steve Jobs, the leading man had already been finalised. Christian Bale was offered to play the title role of Steve Jobs back then. However, when David was dropped from the project, Christian had to exit too. He was replaced by Danny Boyle. However, Danny, too, had to be replaced. Leonardo Di Caprio was then approached to portray the title role on the silver screen. However, Leonardo Di Caprio decided to pass off the project. Michael Fassbender then finally landed the much-coveted role of Steve Jobs.

Something similar happened with Leonardo Di Caprio, who was offered to play the role of Steve Jobs in the film. According to IMDb, Leonardo Di Caprio was originally set to play the lead role but dropped out of the project so that he could be a part of The Revenant. Apparently, the role was then re-directed to Christian Bale, who decided to let go of the film as he felt that he was not right for the role. Seems like casting the right man for Steve Jobs was indeed a task for the makers.

Aaron Sorkin of The Social Network fame has written the screenplay for this ambitious Steve Jobs film. However, According to a report on Macworld.co.uk, Aaron did not want Michael Fassbender in the film. The report stated that when Sony was hacked at the end of 2014, certain emails regarding the issue were leaked. These emails contained information that suggested that Sorkin was rooting for Tom Cruise and that when Michael Fassbender’s name was brought up, he apparently stated that the decision was 'insane' and that he did not know who Michael Fassbender is. However, destiny had its way and Michael eventually landed the role.

Trust Aaron Sorkin to add an impressive realistic touch to the movie. According to IMDb, Aaron has revealed that the film will consist of three, 30-minute scenes, each depicting 16 years of Steve Jobs’ life. Apparently, all the scenes will dramatize the backstage events before three major Apple product launches. These events are rumoured to be the Macintosh launch in 1984, NeXT launch in 1988, and the iMac launch in 1998. All the scenes will take place in real time at two auditoriums, a restaurant and a garage, with a few flashbacks depicting key moments of Jobs' life inserted throughout the story.

The makers of Steve Jobs have ensured that the film is true to the real self of the iconic man. A scene in the movie will depict a 1984 shareholder meeting and product launch. To make it as original as possible, the scene has been replicated in the original location. According to IMDb, this vital scene has been shot at the Flint Center of De Anza Community College in Cupertino, California. Also the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, has been a consultant for this project.
