First things first. What’s a zombie? A zombie, as depicted in movies, used to be a living, breathing human being that died and then refused to stay dead. Most scripts tend to show zombies as mindless beings that have a craving for human flesh - specifically, the human brain unlike vampires, who only crave blood. Zombies have no feelings and are empty shells of what they once used to be while vampires have emotions and can feel pain as well. Most films in the zombie horror genre tend to show the end of the world as brought about by a zombie epidemic. And while the genre itself has existed internationally since the 1920s-30s, it is being taken seriously in India, as late as this year.

World War Z releasing in India the same day as the US and and a zombie police drama called
R.I.P.D. releasing in July, interest in such films is at an all-time high.
