Zack Snyder reveals why he didn't cast Christian Bale as Batman in ‘Batman V Superman’: I think Bale had stayed if…’
In a recent interview, director Zack Snyder disclosed that Christian Bale's time as Batman was officially over, which is why he didn't reprise the role in 'Batman V Superman'. Snyder pointed out that any talks of Bale returning would only be plausible if his version of the caped crusader was still in action, not hanging up the cowl.
When Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in Zack Snyder's ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ fans reacted with mixed feelings. And that’s because Christian Bale’s role was loved so much. But why didn’t Snyder cast Bale for the widely loved role? Recently, during a podcast, Snyder discussed the film on its 10th anniversary and revealed why Christian Bale didn’t play Batman in the movie. On an episode of the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Snyder spoke with host Josh Horowitz about ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.’ During the conversation, the director was asked if there was ever any serious talk of bringing Bale into the film. The director replied, “I think if Bale had stayed, if ('The Dark Knight Rises') had ended with Christian Bale standing on a building overlooking Gotham, silhouetted by the lights of Gotham, then there's, that's a serious conversation there. If he's not in Italy, retired, drinking wine and relaxing, if he's a current crime fighter, then I think those universes could have mixed." Through his words, the director meant that if Bale’s Batman had still been active, there could have been a chance to include him in 'Batman v Superman.'See More: Veteran singer Asha Bhosle passes away at age 92
