Zac Efron, known for his roles in High School Musical and 17 Again, portrays wrestler Kevin Von Erich in Sean Durkin’s biographical sports drama, The Iron Claw. Released in the US on December 23, the film delves into the Von Erich family's tragic history. Made on a $15 million budget, it has surpassed $35 million at the box office and was in the running for an Oscar nomination. Efron stars alongside Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Stanley Simmons in the film, which has hit theatres in the country today.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the actors of the sports drama shared their favorite finishing wrestling move. Jeremy Allen White, who recently won the Emmy for his performance in The Bear said, “ My introduction to professional wrestling was through studying the Von Erichs, I’m not very knowledgeable about the current scenario, but if I had to choose a favorite wrestler it would be Kerry ( His character in the film) and even Ric Flair during that time which was so exciting. For Stanley Simmons, it was John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment, he said, “The one that stands out for me is John Cena’s move where he holds the person on his shoulder and just tosses them off and also Randy Ortan’s RKO. That is a cultural phenomenon. “
And coming to Zac, he said, “ I think I will also go with John Cena, he’s great. I love John Cena."
