No one thought ‘Wonder Woman’ starring Gal Gadot and directed by Patty Jenkins would become such a massive hit. Which is why there is additional pressure on the two to recreate that magic on the big screen. The upcoming film ‘

Wonder Woman 1984

’ is a sequel to ‘Wonder Woman’ and will release in theatres in November 2019. The makers have already started revealing details about the flick, keeping fans guessing about what to expect.
What makes this franchise start apart from other superhero flicks is the fact that director Patty Jenkins gave the first film a lighter tone and vibrant palette. So far, from what the makers have revealed about the sequel is the fact that ‘

Wonder Woman

1984’ will be set in 1980s. With the

Cold War

as the backdrop, Gal Gadot will reportedly come in conflict with the

Soviet Union

. Kristen Wiig will play the archvillain —

Cheetah

— and while there have been various iterations of the character, it will be interesting to see how the makers sketch this particular character and what Wiig does with it.
Most people assumed that Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor died after his aircraft exploded in midair. However, he is present in the promotional photo of the sequel. So, did he really die? And if not, he should be above 80, but looks like he hasn’t aged in the picture. Fans are wondering if they will get to see time-travel in the film.
Another interesting aspect of the sequel is the fact that Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell/Red Viper and Javier Peña in Narcos) is going to play an undisclosed role in it. Nothing has been revealed about his character, making fans believe he could be a surprise villain.
