Winter Olympics: Taylor Swift turns narrator for Team USA; introduces Women’s Figure Skating trio with ‘Opalite’ song

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has lent her voice and music to Team USA’s women’s figure skating campaign ahead of their Olympic game. The singer, who dropped the music video of her hit track 'Opalite' last week, added the song as a soundtrack to the nearly two-minute clip, released as a primetime teaser.

The video spotlights American skaters Amber Glenn, Alysa Liu and Isabeau Levito, who are reportedly nicknamed the “Blade Angels.” All three are set to compete on Tuesday night, aiming to secure a place in the free skate and contend for gold.

In the video, Swift introduces the trio as “American showgirls.” She narrates, “Ladies and gentlemen. I'd like to introduce you to Amber, Alysa and Isabeau. Three American showgirls on ice who will capture your heart with their stories.”

Speaking about Glenn, Swift says, “Amber will be the first to tell you about how many battles she's fought. And how the one's she's lost have meant as much as the wins. Her superpower now is embracing the fight and daring the world to test her self belief.”

Turning to Liu, she says, “As for Alysa, she walked away from skating when she was 16, but then came back on her own terms,” she continues. “Joy fuels her now. Every jump, a celebration. Every performance a testament to the beauty of knowing yourself.”

And for Levito, Swift says, “And then, Isabeau. I mean, she's destiny personified. Her mom grew up in Milan. And her Nonna, her grandma, lives exactly 13 minutes from the Olympic rink. When you can skate like you're meant to be out there, history has a funny way of showing up.”

Swift concludes the narration by cheering the girls on saying, “They're teammates and friends. They call themselves the 'Blade Angels.' And tomorrow night they're taking center stage when the show starts in Milan.”

Previously, Taylor shared a surprise video message wishing Team USA athletes at the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina. The video message featured the singer addressing Olympic athletes and thanking them for their dedication and sacrifices.

"Hi, it's Taylor," Swift said in the clip. "I just wanted to send a message to all the athletes that are competing in the Olympics. I just wanted to say thank you. Getting to learn your stories and see everything that you've sacrificed and all your determination and hard work and passion and everything to that's gotten you to this point where you're so excellent at something, it's just really inspiring, and I am very grateful for everything you've done to get to this point in your life and grateful that you've brought us all along with you on this journey so we get to watch you do this."

Swift, who appeared in the video wearing the official Team USA sweatshirt, concluded her message by wishing athletes, "I just hope that you a wonderful Olympic Games. Wishing you all the best of luck and a safe journey, and I hope this is an experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life. Bye!"
