Where do these stars keep their Oscars?

The bathroom seems to be the preferred pride of place for these stars to keep their statuettes as priceless as it is, the golden Oscar statuette that goes home with a chosen few on Sunday night, always doesn’t end up in the highest of places. Hollywood stars have a knack for stowing these precious keepsakes in the unlikeliest of places, and the preferred one seems to their bathroom instead of the living room.
The Loo keepers The likes of Emma Thompson, Susan Sarandon, Lionel Richie, Sean Connery and Kate Winslet have all confessed to keeping their Oscars stashed in their loos! Thompson, who has won the Oscar twice for Howards End as well as Sense And Sensibility has kept both the trophies in her bathroom.Two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster too had kept her prized possessions in the bathroom as “they looked good with the faucets”, but she later moved them to a trophy case.
Bizarre places There are also some really bizarre ones. Russell Crowe has kept his Oscar (for Gladiator) in a chicken coop on his ranch in Australia! Jennifer Hudson has been quoted as saying that she has placed her statuette (for Dreamgirls) in a hidden wall. “You don’t realize it’s a wall and it goes into my futuristic office, this is the truth, and it sits there in the middle of all the other awards and goes, ahhhh!” is what she had said. Goldie Hawn has kept hers (for Cactus Flower) in what she calls the “India Room” in her house. It’s a room where actress meditates.

Trophy room Of course, there will always be those who prefer to keep their awards at more traditional (and visible places), like their living room or study. Charlize Theron is one such winner and so is George Clooney. His two Oscars for Argo and Syriana are reportedly placed in his library. Dustin Hoffman, who too has two trophies (for Kramer Vs Kramer and Rain Man), keeps his in the study. Reese Witherspoon, who won the golden statuette for Walk The Line, wanted to reportedly turn it into a door knocker, but took a more practical decision and placed it in her living room. Cate Blanchett, who is in the running this year for best actress thanks to Blue Jasmine, had given her earlier Oscar (for The Aviator) to a film museum in Melbourne, Australia.
Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lawrence have given theirs trophies to their parents. While Kidman’s Oscar (for The Hours) finds place in her parents’ house in Sydney, Australia, J-Law’s statuette (for Silver Linings Playbook) is at her parents’ home in Kentucky, USA.
