One of the writers and directors of 'Venom: The Last Dance',
Kelly Marcel, made some news recently about the appearance of Knull, the God of the Symbiotes, in 'Venom 3'. Marcel believes he will be just a milestone for this character as he will be a part of much higher importance stories in the near future's Marvel films.
Marcel spoke with IGN where she says that the villain, Knull, in 'Venom 3' is too strong to be known as a "one-and-done" villain. "This guy is just so powerful; I don't think you can just do him once, even though he is in this movie," she said. "You'll know that there's much more to come. In this film, Knull is the ominous background threat who tests Eddie Brock (Venom's host) and the symbiote itself.". While Knull's inclusion in the movie would be of paramount importance, it would still be a vessel to accommodate the Eddie and Venom partnership. Marcel promised that in this movie, Knull will not be defeated and that his journey is far from over.
Fans of the comics are well aware of just how big of an evil Knull is, far more than a single 'Venom' movie could possibly contain. Knull is a very ancient person who existed even before the universe. He is infamous for creating the deadly sword known as All-Black, which can kill gods. It is said that as soon as he stepped out from an ancient prison, chaos began and heroes and villains together fought for him, and Marcel says that Knull will return in other movies, which may include possibly 'Spider-Man 4'. There are rumors going around that Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield may be collaborating as Spider-Men in a battle in the multiverse, and Knull might have his part in the story.
There are also ties to the MCU, especially in 'Thor: Love & Thunder', where the Necrosword-a weapon tied to Knull-as well as characters that can become his allies, have shown up. It could be that Knull, cinematically speaking, can jump between different universes, thus becoming an even greater threat across multiple films. It might set up significant crossovers for possible future Marvel movies, especially as the MCU continues to delve deeper into both multi-universes and god-like beings within the current storyline.
Many fans, including Marcel, seem excited about what is in the works with Knull. Though some were a little apprehensive that Knull's introduction might be hurried over in 'Venom 3', it now makes sense that the story of Knull should span multiple movies. Lastly, with Knull's great powers-a power that can bring heroes and villains alike to come together-he will certainly move into the pantheon of the most important villains of the MCU's Multiverse Saga, such as Thanos.
However, 'Venom' movie enthusiasts can patiently wait for the unfolding of Knull's story and how he will go about changing the Marvel universe in future films when the third installment of 'Venom' finally arrives.
