Trump dismisses idea of deporting Prince Harry and Meghan amid visa controversy

According to The New York Post, Trump brushed off the idea of expelling Prince Harry, stating, “I don’t want to do that,” and implied that the royal already has enough troubles of his own. He went on to criticize Meghan Markle, calling her “terrible” and suggesting that Harry is being dominated in the relationship. Trump’s remarks added fuel to ongoing debates about Harry’s life in the U.S. since stepping away from royal duties.

The controversy surrounding Prince Harry’s visa application arose after revelations in his memoir, Spare, where he admitted to using substances such as cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics. U.S. immigration policies typically deny visas to individuals with a history of drug use, leading to speculation over whether Harry had disclosed this information in his application or if he was given special treatment.

In response, the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation recently filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security, demanding the release of Prince Harry’s visa records. They argue that if he failed to disclose his past drug use, it could raise concerns about unequal enforcement of immigration laws. So far, there has been no official response from the U.S. government regarding his status.

While Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Markle, he spoke favorably of Prince William, referring to him as “a great young man.” The former president recalled meeting the Prince of Wales in December during the reopening ceremony of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. His remarks have once again sparked discussions about the differences in how the two brothers are perceived.

As Harry continues to reside in California with Meghan and their children, the debate over his visa status persists. Some believe his past admissions should have consequences for his residency, while others argue that he is being unfairly singled out due to his global fame.
