What would one do when stranded in a desert with no hope of communication and survival? Worse, what if it were a whole new planet? Andy Weir’s The Martian, a science fiction novel takes us through the journey of survival of an American astronaut, Mark Watney who is left behind by his crew in Mars.

On a manned mission to Mars, 6 astronauts decide to abandon the planet due to a dust storm.During their escapade, Watney’s antenna gets impaled that destroys his EVA suit's bio-monitor computer. His crew believes him to be dead but he manages to survive the storm with minor injuries.
Directed by Ridley Scott, this movie is an adaptation of Andy Weir’s bestselling novel, The Martian, due to release in November 2015. The movie features Matt Damon as Mark Watney, the Mars ninja who sustains the hostility of the planet. The Good Will Hunting actor, once again prepares to enchant us.
The movie also holds a star studded cast including, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover.
