‘The Last of The Tribe’: Orlando Bloom joins Ethan Hawke and Zaya Guarani in the jungle thriller

‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star Orlando Bloom is all set to share the screen with the Oscar-nominated Ethan Hawke and Brazilian actress and environmental activist Zaya Guarani in the upcoming Jungle thriller ‘The Last of The Tribe.’ The film is based on a non-fiction book by award-winning investigative journalist Monte Reel.


The production company announced Orlando Bloom’s role in ‘The Last of The Tribe’. Bloom starred in 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchises. He recently appeared in the boxing drama 'The Cut' and the action-thriller 'Red Right Hand' opposite Andie MacDowell. He will next be seen in Werner Herzog’s 'Bucking Fastard.'

‘The Last of The Tribe’ adaptation

While Orlando Bloom’s character in the film has not been revealed, Ethan Hawke will take the lead as William Phelan, a washed-out Chicago cop now working as a corporate mercenary.

The film, which is directed by Claudio Borrelli ('Vultures'), features previously announced Brazilian actress and environmental activist Zaya Guarani. Mark Bailey, an Emmy-nominee who wrote 'Downfall' and 'The Volcano: Rescue From Whakaari,' penned the screenplay.

‘The Last of The Tribe’: Plot

The film is set in the Amazon rainforest and follows William Phelan, a washed-out Chicago cop turned corporate gun-for-hire, who is sent to investigate a death. During his mission he encounters the last surviving member of an Indigenous tribe.

Ethan Hawke’s role as William Phelan

Ethane Hawke was confirmed to star in the project back in 2024. He will be seen in the lead role, playing William Phelan, who is a washed-out Chicago cop now working as a corporate mercenary.

Hawke was just nominated for an Oscar for his leading role in ‘ Blue Moon,’ and headlined the FX series 'The Lowdown.’ He also recently starred in thriller ‘The Weight.’

Brazilian actress and environmental activist Zaya Guarani was also confirmed to star in “The Last of The Tribe’ in 2024. Guarani is an Indigenous Brazilian activist, model, actress, and speaker from the Guarani Mbya ethnicities, born and raised in the Amazon rainforest. She has also appeared in Darren Aronofsky’s sci-fi documentary, ‘Postcards From Earth.’
