The countdown is on to the highly anticipated release of The Fantastic Four: First Steps is on! With one month to go before Marvel's First Family arrives on the big screen, a final trailer dropped online, offering fans a glimpse at what promises to be one of the MCU’s biggest cinematic showdown of the year.
The film will introduce Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, alongside Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing in a retro-futuristic 1960s-inspired world. Going by the clip, this film will likely dive into the action and see the team band together to stop Ralph Ineson's Galactus, the colossal cosmic entity threatening to consume Earth. There to herald his arrival, is Julia Garner as the enigmatic Silver Surfer.
Here are some easter eggs that you may have missed in the trailer:
1: The Silver Surfer
With this film, Marvel Studios has leaned into comic book tradition while offering a fresh twist to the iconic character. Instead of Norrin Radd, fans meet Shalla-Bal. While online debates continue around the so-called “gender-swap,” it’s worth noting that the character has long existed in the comics and it’s a new chapter for the Silver Surfer legacy.
Worldship of Galactus
The trailer also unveils one of the most jaw-dropping visual sequences yet in the MCU as it give a glimpse of Taa II, the legendary Worldship of Galactus. Said to be the size of a solar system, the trailer sees the Silver Surfer guiding the Fantastic Four into Galactus' domain, where they appear to be attempting a negotiation.
Franklin Richards
A surprise inclusion in the trailer is Franklin Richards, the child of Reed and Sue. His presence in the clip suggests he’ll play a bigger role than expected. If fan speculation proves true, Franklin may be central to the film’s stakes, with rumours suggesting Galactus demands the child in exchange for sparing Earth.
Galactus in Action
Though we don’t yet see the full extent of Galactus’ wrath, the trailer offers a sweeping shot of the Fantasticar racing through a devastated New York City. His size and form also seems to put him in the ranks of Celestials in Eternals, reinforcing him as a godlike entity.
According to the latest buzz, Galactus could emerge as a multiversal threat, setting the stage for future phases of the MCU.
Beyond the high-stakes battle, the film also explores the team's dynamic as they struggle to maintain unity amid chaos. The supporting cast includes Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles.
Directed by Matt Shakman (WandaVision), the film will release in theatres across India on July 25, available in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
