The Devil Wears Prada 2: Emily Blunt’s most iconic moments

Emily Blunt’s Emily Charlton makes a striking return in The Devil Wears Prada 2, ensuring no one has forgotten her name. No longer anyone’s assistant, she steps into the sequel as a Dior executive, armed with sharper one-liners, better outfits, and a whole lot more power—yet still manages to be the most entertaining person in every room she enters.

Emily Charlton is back—and she’s running Dior

In The Devil Wears Prada 2, Emily Charlton returns not as an assistant but as a powerful executive at Dior’s New York operations. She walks in demanding free ad pages and a feature on Dior’s new flagship store, making it very clear that the tables have turned. The woman who once answered Miranda’s every call is now the one holding all the cards.

3/6

From rivals to reluctant allies: Emily and Andy

Emily spends much of the film holding on to the icy demeanour of the woman she once admired, while slowly warming to the idea of actually being friends with Andy—someone she once happily conspired against. Watching the two finally find common ground is one of the most satisfying arcs in the film. Twenty years later, the frenemies are still figuring each other out.

4/6

The Milan moment with Donatella Versace

One of the film’s most talked-about scenes features Emily sitting down for lunch with Donatella Versace during Milan Fashion Week. The two catch up before being interrupted by Andy, who is navigating the city in a bid to save Runway—with Emily’s help. It’s a full-circle moment for the franchise and one of its most stylish sequences.

5/6

The one-liners that stole the show

Emily Charlton enters The Devil Wears Prada 2 armed with some of the sharpest lines in the franchise. From “May the bridges I burn light my way” to “You have changed—you have. You are much more confident. Kept your eyebrows, though, didn’t you?” directed at Andy, every line lands like a perfectly aimed stiletto. It’s clear the writers saved their best material for Emily—and Blunt delivers every word flawlessly.

6/6

Emily’s plan to take down Meryl Streep’s Miranda

The film’s biggest twist centres on Emily. Her boyfriend, Benji, turns out to be the key to Andy’s plan to save Runway—placing Emily at the heart of the power struggle. Emily and Andy join forces to pitch their plan to Miranda, only for her to shut it down, revealing she always knew Emily intended to buy Runway just to fire her. It’s one of the most dramatic and satisfying confrontations in the film—and proof that Emily Charlton is no longer playing second fiddle to anyone.
