'The Conjuring: Last Rites': Vera Farmiga hails Michael Chaves for bringing 'joy' on set

The horror is set to descend upon the world with the release of the final chapter, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites,’ as Ed and Lorraine Warren look forward to investigating the devilish monster. While shooting such a film that could send the chills down the spine, the atmosphere can be a bit chilly. Coming to the rescue, the director, Michael Chaves, made sure that he could bring joy to the film set.“Chaves brings joy. His cup runneth over with joy. It’s his ability to feel joy and to express it. That’s the most beautiful thing about Chaves,” Vera Farmiga revealed during a conversation with Pinkvilla, adding, “I mean, I could just be doing a 180-degree slow turn, and he makes me feel like it’s the best head turn he’s ever seen, and he’s just effusive.”Additionally, the 52-year-old lead actress said that she had to keep a straight face as Chaves would be emoting at a distance. Calling him cheerful and joyful, she claimed that he relishes these scares and guides his way through. Patrick Wilson, who would be playing Ed Warren, along with Farmiga’s Lorraine, said that he has accomplished four movies in the past, and his confidence evokes passion into the series.“He’s in such a great space for someone who’s got this reverence for the series, but is also able to infuse his own passion and skill and the things that he’s learned along the way,” he said, before adding, “And he still asks, 'Okay, how can I push myself?’ So, that’s the Chaves that we’re getting here, which is really, really, really exciting."‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ will be released on September 5, 2025, starring Mia Tomlinson, Taissa Farmiga, Ben Hardy, Beau Gadsdon, and many more.
