After roping in 'Black Widow' star
Scarlett Johansson, it seems that the makers of 'The Batman Part II' have now turned their sights to the Winter Soldier, aka
Sebastian Stan for a role in the upcoming Matt Reeves directorial.
Sebastian Stan to join 'The Batman'
In the ever-expanding Marvel-to-DC crossover, Sebastian is reportedly in talks to join 'The Batman' sequel, landing a role opposite Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader. While details about his role remain under wraps, Deadline reports that if negotiations come through, then Stan could just be on his way to the DCEU after his long run with Marvel.
Sebastian Stan's upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday' appearance
Stan famously played the role of Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier, for over a decade. His most recent outing was in 'Thunderbolts', which was later retitled as 'New Avengers'. With the current MCU slate, Stan is set to make his 11th appearance in the upcoming multi-starrer 'Avengers: Doomsday'.
Sebastian Stan to reunite with Scarlett Johansson
Should Stan bag the part in 'The Batman', he will reunite with Johansson, after starring in multiple 'Avengers' films. He will also reunite with Pattinson after their turn in Netflix’s 2020 release 'The Devil All the Time'.
The sequel is currently scheduled to begin production in spring and is slated for an October 1, 2027 theatrical release. It will follow the success of Reeves’ 2022 blockbuster hit, which earned USD 772 million at the worldwide box office.
Fans react to 'The Batman' casting
Reacting to the news, fans seemed convinced that the actor, who bagged an Oscar nod for his performance as Donald Trump in 'The Apprentice', will take on the role of another politician - Harvey Dent. Buzz is that the actor may just be tapped to play the Batman villain Two-Face in the upcoming film. However, there has been no official confirmation about the same. DC Studios also reportedly declined to comment on the casting reports.
