Joining the team, Stephen Colbert denounced the violent politics on his talk show ‘The Late Show’ on Wednesday. Before airing the pre-recorded segment, he said, “Good evening, everybody. After our scripts for tonight’s show were finished, we learned that Charlie Kirk, a prominent right-wing activist, was killed at a speaking engagement in Utah.”

After sharing his condolences with the late Kirk’s family, he recalled the political violence in the 1960s. “Political violence only leads to more political violence,” he said, adding that the abhorrent action hopefully doesn’t indicate the sign of things to come.

The Republican shared the news, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
