'Nymphomaniac' star
Stacy Martin and actor Hayley Squires have boarded the cast of 'Louis Wain', a biographical drama about the iconic British painter. The film, being directed by Will Sharpe from a script he co-wrote with Simon Stephenson, features
Benedict Cumberbatch as Wain and
Claire Foy as his wife Emily.
Martin and Squires join the project alongside the likes of Sharon Rooney, Aimee Lou Wood, Adeel Akhtar, Julian Barratt and Asim Chaudhry, according to a Hollywood digital magazine. Andrea Riseborough and Toby Jones are also part of the cast.
The movie will follow the the extraordinary true story of the early 20th-century artist who became famous for his distinctive paintings of cats that inspired hearts and minds around the world. "Louis Wain is a loveable inspirational hero with a courageous and infectious spirit, who saw the world in a unique and delightful way throughout his long life full of adventure, continually inspiring people to do the same," the film's official logline read.
The project is being produced by Guy Heeley and Adam Ackland along with Ed Clarke and Leah Clarke.
