Lin took to social media on November 7, to share the news, stating that he had been in the hospital since November 5. He revealed that a blood vessel behind his right eye had ruptured suddenly, describing it as an idiopathic condition of unknown cause. Expressing gratitude for the meticulous initial treatment by medical professionals, Lin assured that there seem to be no significant aftereffects, and his condition is gradually improving with medication and IV drips.

Despite already showing signs of recovery, Lin acknowledged the need to take things slow for the time being. He mentioned he was very fortunate and is scheduled to be discharged this weekend. Lin believes it is his hectic schedule that led to his condition; thus, he has decided to cut himself some slack.

Lin, known as one of Japan's most prolific manga editors, has managed over 100 titles, including successful works like Yuji Kaku's Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku and Kazue Kato's Blue Exorcist. He is currently supervising the ongoing Shonen Jump bestsellers ‘Spy x Family,’ ‘Dandandan,’ and ‘Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man.’
