Miles Morales is swinging back in action with the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga.
This time around, his journey 'Across the Spider-Verse' brings him to India. While it has already been teased that the animated film will have scenes in the country, the new clip sees Miles swinging past Hindi billboards and characters in sarees and kurtas.
It is here that he is believed to meet the Indian Spider-Man, also known as Pavitr Prabhakar. The Indian variant lives in 'Mumbattan'. The creators explained that the idea of this universe is that it is 'Manhattan but in reverse'.
Besides teasing action-packed adventures, saving the world, some emotional backstories, and recreating memes, the film is also set to give a comedic spin to the Spider-Man story.
According to the official synopsis, 'Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.'
The much-awaited Hollywood franchise is being released theatrically in India in 10 different languages. Apart from English, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ will release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi and Bengali.
The film directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, is slated to hit the big screen on 2nd June 2023.
