Sophie Dahl to star in Bollywood film

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal"><script language="javascript" src="Config?Configid=43376741"></script><br /><a href="javascript:popUp(&quot1;photopop?msid=122690&type=0&quot1;)"> <img border="0" align="left" src="/cms.dll/thumb?height=242&width=242&photoID=122690" hspace="12"" /></a>LONDON: In yet another sign of Indian cinema going global, British actress Sophie Dahl has been signed up to play a leading role in an English-language Bollywood film.<br /><br />The 24-year-old actress will play an Englishwoman making "an affectionate documentary" about the Indian film industry in the film titled <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">The King of Bollywood</span>. <br /><br />Co-starring with her in the film will be veteran actor Om Puri, who is already well known famous in the UK for his roles in films such as <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">East is East </span>and <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">City of Joy</span>. <br /><br />Andrew Pavord, the film''s line producer, said, "Sophie is not an obvious choice but is was an inspired piece of casting by the English casting director. Sophie is very much looking forward to being in a Bollywood film." </div> </div>
