This summer, Hollywood is overdosing on Snow White. While “Snow White And The Huntsman”, starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron, features Stewart as a sword-wielding, horse-riding heroine, Tarsem Singh’s “Mirror Mirror” sees Snow White heading to… err, Bollywood. Lily Collins has sung a Bollywood-inspired song for the end credits of “Mirror Mirror”. The movie, also starring Julia Roberts as evil queen and Armie Hammer as Prince Charming, is yet to release, however the song “I Believe In Love” – featuring Lily in her Snow White garb busting typical Bollywood moves – has already garnered several praises. Despite the English lyrics, the tune is set to desi beats, with even the seven dwarfs punctuating the groove with very Punjabi “hoye!”s. The set of the movie is reminiscent of the ones in Karan Johar’s family sagas, with even the thousands of guests in the hall playing chorus to the hero aur heroine.
Calling it a ‘fun experience’, Collins, who happens to be the famous recording artist Phil Collins’ daughter, was quoted as saying, “I went into the sound studio, and I recorded it and the dwarves recorded bits in the melodies. This was my first experiment with going out there and singing – Bollywood, nonetheless.”
