Shakira sweeps Latin Music Awards

WASHINGTON: Colombian singer Shakira had a kitty full after winning a total of six awards at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in Florida.

The 'Whenever, Wherever' singer not only saw her album Fijacion Oral Vol 1 (Oral Fixation Vol 1) win the Female Latin Pop Album Of The Year, but her single La Torture (The Torture) also won an additional four awards including Hot Latin Song Of The Year.

According to Contactmusic, Shakira was also presented with the Spirit Of Hope Award, to acknowledge and honour the Fundacion Piez Descalzos (Bare Feet Foundation) she set up to help Colombian children.

Other multiple winners of the night included reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, rapper Juanes, Dominican bachata singer Andy Andy, and Mexican pop group RBD, who all took home three award each.
