In a conversation with The Wrap, Raimi mentioned that if he were to work on Spider-Man 4, the first step would be to understand Tobey Maguire's character arc and the obstacles Peter Parker would face to achieve personal growth. He stated that the choice of the villain would be influenced by the story's representation of these obstacles.

When asked if he had specific ideas for these obstacles, Raimi replied, "I haven't because I'd have to know what the next thing that character has to learn. I'd have to talk with Tobey, and the writers, and really figure out what his personal growth for this episode would be."

Will Spider-Man 4 happen?

Rumors about a possible Spider-Man 4 have persisted for years, with many fans eager to see the return of Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker. While there's no official confirmation of the film, recent comments from various sources suggest that the idea isn't entirely off the table. Actor Thomas Haden Church, who played Sandman in Spider-Man 3, revealed in an interview with ComicBook.com that he believes a Raimi-directed sequel could happen, "But Sandman, there's been some rumors that they might ask me to do another Spider-Man, and I'd do it tomorrow," Church said, adding that he had an option to return if Spider-Man 4 had gone into production. "If it happens, that would be fantastic. I'm getting a little old."

While the fate of Spider-Man 4 remains uncertain, the idea has gained traction among fans and some of the original cast.
