Ryan Reynolds recently took to social media to celebrate Wesley Snipes' return as Blade in the latest Marvel film, Deadpool & Wolverine. Reynolds praised Snipes for his surprise cameo, which brought the iconic vampire hunter back to the big screen. The actor shared his excitement with fans, calling for more Blade content, and even suggesting that Snipes' character deserves a final tribute similar to Wolverine's emotional send-off in Logan.

Reynolds posted a series of photos on Instagram from the set of the film, expressing how the audience's reaction to Snipes' appearance was one of the most intense he had ever witnessed. He described the crowd's response as a mix of pure joy and admiration, highlighting the lasting impact of Snipes' portrayal of Blade. Reynolds' message was clear: fans still love Blade, and they want to see more of him.

"More Blade please. #DayWalker," Reynolds wrote, referring to Blade's nickname. He also hinted at the idea of giving Blade a proper farewell in the same vein as Wolverine's iconic ending in Logan.

Wesley Snipes, who first played Blade in the 1998 film directed by Stephen Norrington, recently discussed how his cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine came to be. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly (EW), Snipes revealed that it all started with a text message from Ryan Reynolds. Initially, Snipes was skeptical about the possibility of returning as Blade, especially since Marvel had already announced a reboot of the character starring Mahershala Ali.

"I didn’t think it was possible. I didn’t think he would be able to pull it off. I didn’t think that Marvel was into it. Disney was into it," Snipes admitted. He was also aware that the upcoming Blade reboot was already in the works, making his cameo seem unlikely. However, Reynolds managed to make it happen, much to the delight of fans.

Snipes originally played Blade in three films: Blade (1998), Blade II (2002), and Blade: Trinity (2004). The character became a fan favorite and is often credited with paving the way for modern superhero films. In 2019, Marvel announced a Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali set to take on the role. However, the project has faced numerous delays, including the departure of director Bassam Tariq and disruptions caused by the writers' strike.

As fans eagerly await the new Blade film, Reynolds' tribute to Snipes serves as a reminder of the character's enduring legacy and the impact of Snipes' portrayal. The call for a "Logan-style" send-off suggests that fans are not ready to say goodbye to the Daywalker just yet.
