Crowe recalled the moment vividly, mentioning the rush to capture the shot amidst the chaos of hundreds of extras, flying arrows, and burn pots. He described feeling like an "electric shock" coursing through his body upon impact.

Despite the intense pain, Crowe soldiered on without informing the production team or taking any time off. However, a decade later, he began experiencing unusual pains in his legs, prompting him to seek medical attention.

To his surprise, X-rays revealed old fractures in both shin bones, remnants of the incident during Robin Hood. Crowe shared how he had finished filming the movie with two broken legs, without casts or painkillers, solely driven by his commitment to his work.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Crowe noted that he had sensed something was wrong during his subsequent role as the Kryptonian father of Superman, which required intense physical training. However, between the time off and the rigorous training, his legs eventually healed themselves.
