Rihanna set for acting debut in Battleship

Popstar Rihanna will soon be bringing her star power to the silver screen with her debut in action thriller 'The Battleship'.
The 22-year-old will star in the film directed by Peter Berg opposite 'True Blood' heartthrob Alexander Skarsgard.
The 'Disturbia' hitmaker's role has not yet been officially confirmed but she will begin filming shortly in order to meet the release date of May 2011, reported Variety magazine online.
'Battleship' offers a fresh take on the classic board game, where naval forces unite on the high seas to battle an alien armada.
Taylor Kitsch of 'Friday Night Lights' and Skarsgard have been cast as two sailor brothers who partake in the fight.
In the meantime, Rihanna has her hands full with work and is currently touring to promote her album, 'Rated R'.
She kicked things off on a high note this weekend when Eminem appeared onstage to perform their duet, 'Love the Way You Lie'.
