Having met on the set of blockbuster Mr & Mrs Smith, Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie still maintain they were ‘just good friends’ and that romance only blossomed once Pitt and Aniston had filed for divorce.
All the sizzling on screen, however, and a series of paparazzi shots taken off-set might imply otherwise.Never actually admitting they were an item, it was only really when Brad adopted her kids, Maddox and Zahara, and Angelina announced that she was pregnant in January that they could no longer deny their status as a couple.
Close friends said that with children involved, the need for a pre-nuptial became obvious.
Ceremony:
While reports claim Brad continues to ask Ange to marry him. Those close to the couple are predicting a winter wedding at George Clooney’s villa on Lake Como, but with their baby Shiloh having so recently arrived, wedding bells might not be sounding anytime soon.
On hold:
Any plans to marry might be on hold, but Brangelina’s prenup’ has already been drawn up. Financial details remain under wraps but, apparently, the deal, commissioned at Angelina’s request, is aimed at protecting the kids should things go wrong.
Despite the fact that Brad’s playing dad to their adopted children, Angelina is adamant that following a divorce she will raise them alone, making Brad sign away all claims and even visitation rights to Maddox and Zahara.
However, when questioned recently, Pitt claimed that no such prenup’ exists.
Ex-factor:
It will be third-time lucky for Angelina should she walk up the aisle again. Former husbands, Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, didn't draw up pre-marital contracts, but there were fewer dollars in the bank then and no babies to consider.
Brad, of course, was married to Jennifer Aniston for four-and-a-half years and with no prenup they amicably divided up their fortune.
They have always kept their money separate.’Meaning Jen held on to her $80 million earnings and Brad his $100 million, while the $20 million Malibu mansion, $6 million yacht, the ranch and their film company were carved up between them. But with Angelina, perhaps a pre-nup is quite required.
