Part 3 of ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ put on hold?

That’s some disappointing news for the fans of the franchise
Looks like there’s more trouble in store for the third instalment of ‘

Guardians Of The Galaxy

’. The film was recently in news when

Marvel Studios

and Disney sacked director James Gunn, after some of his old, offensive tweets resurfaced. And now, it looks like the project has been put on hold.

While there’s no clarity about the reason for the postponement, a

Hollywood

news website claimed that it could be because of Gunn’s firing. The crew members have already been informed that they are free to take up other work, the website claimed.

Gunn had written and directed the first two instalments of the franchise, which were box-office hits. The filmmaker was fired from the project about a month ago, when Gunn’s decade-old tweets came to hunt him. Much to the embarrassment of both Disney and Marvel, the tweets were all jokes about pedophilia and rape.

Wasting no time, the studio fired Gunn from directing the third instalment of the film, saying that they found it unacceptable at a time when many Hollywood actresses were speaking out against sexual harassment. Disney also said that such ‘jokes’ were not in line with Disney’s family-friendly image.
