Naomi Watts isn’t afraid to embrace aging. The 57-year-old actress candidly spoke about her stance on plastic surgery and natural appearance. She acknowledged how her views on health and beauty have changed since she entered her 50s and that she doesn’t want to try to “look like someone who’s fighting to look 25.”
Naomi Watts’ views on health and beauty have ‘changed’
Speaking with Bustle for a story published on Thursday, February 26, the 57-year-old actress opened up about founding Stripes Beauty, her holistic beauty company for aging women, and said her views on health and beauty have changed since she entered her 50s.
According to Watts, one of the most "freeing" beauty realizations she's had in the past decade came when she decided that she doesn't want to try to "look how I once did," and instead is focusing on "just embracing myself at this point in time."
Naomi Watts doesn’t want to look 25 anymore
"I think you get to a certain age, and you know what works for you and you just stick with it. I don’t want to look 25 anymore or look like someone who’s fighting to look 25," she shared.
Watts also shared that she hasn't had "the nerve" to undergo any plastic surgery, and is instead "interested in putting myself forward as I am."
"For now, I hope other people around me can tolerate my drooping jowls, because right now I don’t want to go under the knife. I can’t categorically say I’m for or against at this moment, but I certainly would never judge those who do it," she continued.
Additionally, Watts also spoke about how her beauty habits have changed over the years, sharing that "now that my kids are grown and more independent, I’m really into my end-of-the-day ritual."
