Pop/EDM: You might expect a slew of ballads and dewy numbers at first glance, from an album like this. But surprisingly, 'Dconstructed' features a mix of cover versions of classic songs that have featured in Disney movies as well as a clutch of newer songs, all served up with an electronic swirl, a danceable groove and presumably, aimed at turning on a younger demographic to their music. Accordingly, some of today's best-known EDM artistes like Avicii,

Armin Van Buuren

and Kaskade work on this album. The result? You get to hear EDM takes on songs like Let It Go and the Circle of Life. Other than that, the album also music either from or inspired by other films like 'The Incredibles', 'The Muppets', 'Sleeping Beauty' and not surprisingly, Mickey Mouse cartoons as well. Two songs from Daft Punk's work on Tron: Legacy get fresh remixes and Sebastian Ingrosso along with Axwell collaborate on music from Monsters University. Shinichi Osawa does the knob-twiddling for Disneyland Park's Main Street Electrical Parade. Elsewhere, Mat Zo, BT, U.N.K.L.E., The Japanese Popstars, Au5, Negin and ShyKidx present their talents too. On the whole, this is a welcome version of songs you are already familiar with and the artistes that have worked on the music do a pretty good job of presenting this in a new light. Or rather, sound.
