Another spinoff series is on the way in the Godzilla and King Kong monsterverse, and the fans are here for it. ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters 2’ is the second season of a hit spinoff series. They recently dropped their trailer and have created a lot of buzz surrounding its release.
Plot Summary of ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’
The second season of ‘Legacy of Monsters’ will delve into new information about the Monarch, Skull Island, and other titans that have yet to rise around the world. The series is also introducing the character of Titan X, one of the most powerful Titans of all time. Kong and Godzilla will be back for another season as they explore the mysteries of the nether world. While the new trailer has brought forth a lot of excitement, it has also brought on a lot of fan theories and dedicated moments to the OG characters from the early 90s comics and shows now.
Titan X may be a cephalopod
The trailer, which was released a week ago, showed that Kong and Godzilla will be facing off with Titan X, a monster that seems to be bigger and badder than anything else that they have dealt with. The second season pays homage to ‘King Kong’ from 1933, where the octopus-like creature was first introduced in the universe.
This is not the first time that one of the main monsters has had a face-off with a sea creature. In King Kong vs. Godzilla, rather than showing Titan X or any water-monster, King Kong was shown battling a gigantic octopus on Skull Island.
Another TV series spinoff from the main Monsterverse, titled ‘Skull Island,’ also featured a similar creature. It showed the Kraken, a mythological sea monster who is known to have the traits of an octopus.
The series’ second season will air on Apple TV+ on February 27, 2026, and will have a weekly episode run until May. The series is being released almost exactly a year after the final shoot was finalized and the team started working on post-production.
