Miranda Kerr admits she and ex Orlando Bloom didn’t bring “out the best” in each other in a new revelation
Miranda Kerr got real about her past marriage to Orlando Bloom, saying they just weren’t a great match. She recently opened up about why they split, how they’ve healed since, and what their relationship looks like now. She didn’t sugarcoat it: by the end, she and Orlando both knew they weren’t helping each other grow. That realization ended up driving their decision to part ways.

Miranda Kerr’s revelation: What did she say

Kerr, now 42, explained on the ‘We Need to Talk’ podcast that both she and Bloom saw their marriage wasn’t working. They were together from 2010 to 2013, but things just never clicked the way they hoped. These days, though, their relationship is actually pretty great. Miranda, who shares 15-year-old Flynn with Orlando, said, “Orlando and I are great friends. I just wished him a happy birthday, and he thanked me for being such a wonderful mother to Flynn and a great friend to him. He says he’s grateful to have me in his life, and I feel the same.”She went on, “I wish him all the best this year. We see each other a lot and it’s always harmonious. There’s a lot of respect and friendship between us.”
Miranda, who’s now married to Evan Spiegel, Snapchat’s billionaire CEO, admitted dealing with the public’s obsession over her breakup wasn’t easy. “You get frustrated when you can’t just live a normal life,” she said.Kerr shared that she and Orlando didn’t split because of some huge fight or drama. It was a choice they made together, out of honesty and respect. They decided to focus on forgiveness, of themselves and each other, and to do the emotional work needed to move on. That helped them turn a tough situation into something peaceful, even positive. “We both knew the relationship wasn’t bringing out the best in each other,” she said. Forgiveness was the key.

Looking back: Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom’s story

Miranda and Orlando first met backstage at a Victoria’s Secret show in 2006. He wanted her number, but she turned him down at first, as she was seeing someone else. Eventually, they became friends, started dating in 2007, and married in 2010. But by 2013, they’d gone their separate ways and finalized the divorce.Even so, their friendship lasted. When they split, they agreed their son Flynn, who is about 15 now, would always come first. They made him the center of every decision, keeping things peaceful and focused on co-parenting instead of fighting. Miranda pointed out that having a child with someone means that person will always be in your life. Instead of fighting that, she decided to accept it with as much kindness as she could. That attitude, she says, made all the difference. Now, Miranda and Orlando check in with each other on birthdays and big moments. She shared how Orlando recently thanked her for being a “wonderful mother” and a supportive friend.
