Mickey Rourke says ‘living conditions in the house had become unacceptable’, explains more about his eviction notice
Months ago, TV star and actor Mickey Rourke made headlines after it was reported that he was being evicted from his home. Now, the star is opening up about the matter and how life has been for him after he failed to pay almost USD 60 thousand dollars for his rent.
His statement read, “The reason I stopped paying rent was that the living conditions in the house had become unacceptable. For months, there were serious problems that repeatedly went unaddressed despite my efforts to have them fixed.”
Some of the other issues that he listed out include plumbing errors, multiple repair requirements, rodent issues, as well as many other things. He also added that “basic maintenance was never properly handled” in the property, even after he repeatedly complained about the same. He concluded that while the decision was not made lightly, he was unable to live in the home without his basic requests being met.
Soon after the news was shared online, Liya-Joelle Jones, an alleged member of Rourke’s management team as well as a friend, had started a fundraiser page for him. Later, Rourke shut this down and posted a video to his account, clarifying everything.
In the video, he stated that “Somebody set up some kind of foundation or fund for me to donate money— like in a charity—and that's not me. If I needed money, I wouldn't ask for no f***** charity. I'd rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.”
