‘Mercy’ director Timur Bekmambetov talks about working with Chris Pratt
In an interview with People, Timur Bekmambetov opened up about working with Chris Pratt. While attending the film’s premiere on January 20, the director shared that this character was something completely different for Chris Pratt.
He shared that since it is a thriller film, the star is already expected to awe the audience with his action moves, it is equal parts emotional. He added, “This movie, it's not just an action movie - because we expect Chris Pratt to be tough and jump and entertain us — but it's [also] very vulnerable, very broken man. And it was unique for him. He played this for the first time.” He further called Pratt a versatile actor who surprised him to the core with his performance in ‘Mercy.’
This is not the first time that the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star and the director have worked together. They paired up well last in 2008 for the film ‘Wanted.’
More about ‘Mercy’
The film follows a deadbeat detective who, one night, on a drunken whim, blacks out. The next day, he ends up waking up, strapped to a chair in front of an AI judge, who is played by ‘The Greatest Showman’ star Rebecca Feurgesson. He is given 90 minutes to prove that he is innocent and that he is being charged with the murder of his wife.
The film does not always consist of action moves, and is mainly dependent on Chris Pratt’s acting on the big screen.
In another interview with the publication, Pratt had revealed how he had been prepping for the role. He shared, “I had an opportunity to work with the LAPD and their homicide division, and so I was able to go down and talk to those guys. It was really incredible.”Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
