Mena Massoud's look from 'Aladdin' revealed

will be seen playing the titular role in the live-action film ‘Aladdin’, a remake of the 1992 animated hit. The audience got to see the

first look

of the film recently in its teaser. The trailer begins with a view of Agrabah, the fictional city where the story takes place, and the audience gets a glimpse of a parrot, presumably the villain Jafar’s companion, Iago. The next scene in the Cave of Wonders shows an outline of Jafar standing out front, as

The film, directed by Guy Ritchie, will see Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Hollywood star Will Smith as Genie, a character originally voiced by Robin Williams in the 1992 animated film. Marwan Kenzari will essay the role of the formidable Jafar.

The film will release next year in May.
