Matt Damon shares pro tips for 'girl dads'; showers praise on daughter Alexia's 'Incredible' boyfriend

Matt Damon isn't gearing up to unleash his 'Boston' side on his daughters' boyfriends—at least not anytime soon. During a chat with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM's Radio Andy, the Air star, 53, shared his top tips for being a dad to daughters Isabella, 18, Gia, 15, Stella, 13, and Alexia, 25, from his marriage to Luciana Damon.

When asked about his best advice for being a dad, Matt Damon mentioned he prefers to listen and be supportive rather than offer direct guidance. He emphasized that fostering self-esteem is crucial, noting that most decisions his daughters make will be without his presence.

Cohen asked Damon how he handles it when his daughters bring a boyfriend home. Damon responded that he's relaxed about it and doesn’t get overly protective. Cohen then inquired if Damon ever turns into a tough Boston dad, demanding to know what the boy is up to.

Damon dismissed the tough-guy dad stereotype as an exaggerated trope, noting that while it might be joked about among dads, he doesn't subscribe to it. He shared that he and his wife, Luciana, are thrilled about their daughter Alexia’s boyfriend, who they find "incredible" and are very fond of.

On July 31, Damon made a family affair of the New York premiere of his latest film, The Instigators, walking the red carpet with his wife and four daughters. In an interview, he revealed that it was his wife who persuaded him to take on the role in the upcoming comedic thriller.

Damon shared that Luciana was deeply involved in producing the film and that he completely trusts her taste. He compared her judgment to that of Casey and Ben Affleck, emphasizing his confidence in her decisions.
