The story is set in Hinamizawa and brings you into a world of mystery and tragedy. The village had been plagued by a never-ending cycle of tragic events, but now, in June 1983, things seem peaceful. However, there are still unexplored fragments and memories waiting to be uncovered. As a challenger who has faced the village's dark past, you're invited to dive into these untold tales while cherishing your time with the club members of Hinamizawa.
The remastered novel was originally released in Japan in January 2022, bundling all the chapters together. MangaGamer had previously released ‘Higurashi: When They Cry Hou - Rei’ in June 2022, and this new release continues to expand on the Higurashi universe.

Notably, ‘Higurashi: When They Cry’ started as a visual novel in 2002, centered around mysterious murders during an annual festival in a quiet village. It has since grown into a multi-part series with various story arcs and adaptations, including OVA series and console releases.

MangaGamer has been releasing the chapters of ‘Higurashi: When They Cry Hou’ individually since 2015, and this collection is the culmination of those efforts. So, if you're a fan of mystery, horror, and engaging storytelling, this is something to look forward to.
