Madonna has won an appeal against a judge's ruling which would allow her to adopt a second Malawian child. The Queen of Pop had been preparing to adopt four-year-old Chifundo Mercy James but her application had been rejected by a court. The 50-year-old had to face dejection as she was told that prospective parents had to be resident in the country for 18 to 24 months, reports the Sun.
Madonnas lawyer had lodged an appeal to overturn the judge's decision and now the date for the hearing has been marked for May 4. The case involving Mercys fate would come up before three Supreme Court of Appeal judges. The singer, who is presently recovering from a nasty horse fall, had adopted three-year-old David Banda from the African country in 2006.
