Lucy Hale opens up about her sexual assault experience

In an interview with an international magazine, Hollywood actress Lucy Hale revealed that she has been subjected to sexual assault in the past. The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ actress had shared a message on social media earlier this year where she talked about an incident pertaining to sexual misconduct. The message was deleted later.

Lucy told the magazine that she has experienced stuff on the small side but maintained that assault is after all assault. She went on to say that she believes there are many people who have been taken advantage of when they were intoxicated as it had happened to her and people she knows. She called this kind of sexual misconduct ‘very common’.

The actress added that she was lucky enough to have escaped unscathed but she said that nothing’s hurt her too badly.

In the month of January, Lucy shared an incident on her social media accounts where she talked about how she felt after being sexually violated: “I never understood sexual assault until tonight. I always sympathized, but never truly felt the paint [sic] of it until right now. My dignity and pride was broken. I am completely at a loss for words. I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don't try to make a difference.”
