Troubled singer-actress Lindsay Lohan is leaving her partying lifestyle behind to head back to her acting roots after landing the lead role in a new comedy movie.
The 22-year-old received acclaim for her performance in 2004 "Mean Girls", but her subsequent films were panned by critics. She was then reprimanded by movie bosses on 2006 "Georgia Rule" for "irresponsible and unprofessional" behaviour and became more famous for her partying and personal life than her acting skills.

But Lohan is heading back to the film sets after landing the main role in fantasy comedy "The Other Side", which tells the story of a graduate science student on a remote island, reports contactmusic.com.
"Lindsay's very aware of people's perceptions of her. She's really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that," said David Michaels, director of the film.
Filming on the movie, which also stars Woody Harrelson and Alanis Morissette, is slated to begin in October.
