A hotel worker revealed that Payne frequently called the front desk asking for alcohol. He also allegedly asked about where he could buy cocaine. "I told him I couldn’t help with that," said one bellhop. "He got angry and insulted me." The worker also claimed that when he delivered a fruit platter to Payne's room, the singer was in a very messy space and made an inappropriate request for drugs.

Leaked WhatsApp messages further revealed disturbing conversations. One text showed Payne offering $5,000 to an escort to “party” with him. In the message, Payne reportedly said, “I have all day... I’ll give you $5,000... just you and me.” The woman responded, asking if Payne wanted to bring a friend along, to which he agreed.

Another hotel worker, a receptionist named Esteban Grassi, revealed that Payne had asked him to act as a translator for two female escorts during his stay. Grassi noted that the women told him Payne owed them $5,000. This amount seemed odd to Grassi, as Payne had previously asked for only $300.

Despite these troubling interactions, Payne’s death remains under investigation, with authorities looking into his behavior in the hours leading up to the fatal fall. Grassi mentioned that Payne was mostly active at night, constantly requesting alcohol and appearing to struggle with his personal issues.
