As part of the scholarship, underprivileged youngsters will get the opportunity to take part in dance programs, and win grants to enrol in accredited dance studios, according to Daily Variety.
"I think its important for children to experience music and dance. Every child should have the opportunity to discover what it is they like and have access to the very best in that pursuit," Contactmusic quoted Katie as saying.
The Batman Begins star is all set to show off her dancing skills on the floor during a special 100th episode of So You Think You Can Dance, where she will perform a tribute to Judy Garland.
