is developing a new movie in the Lego series that has had the working title of '
The Billion Brick Race
'. Gutierrez previously helmed the Golden Globe-nominated animated feature 'The Book of Life' and the Emmy-winning TV series 'El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera.'

Most recently, he stepped into the virtual reality arena, directing Google Spotlight Stories' 'Son of Jaguar', an animated short that combines Mexican wrestling with a heartfelt tale about tradition and family.
While the log line for the new film hasn't been revealed, the project was originally in the hands of
Jason Segel and
Drew Pearce, based on an original idea of Pearce's.
Upcoming films in Warner Bros' Lego Movie franchise include 'The Lego Ninjago Movie', which is set to open in theatres on September 22, followed by 'The Lego Movie Sequel', which will release on February 8, 2019.
