The courts finally decided on the actual amount that Amber Heard had to part with after she lost and was held liable in the highly publicized defamation suit that Johnny Depp had filed. She ended up paying him $1 million.
Johnny Depp had already decided on what he was going to do with the money he received as part of the suit. It went to five different charities, each receiving $200,000. Although Amber had to pay more than $13 million to Johnny Depp, they decided to settle out of court where the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star graciously accepted the far reduced amount of $1 million.

This has aroused everyone’s curiosity and people wondered which charities will benefit and among them is the Make A Film Foundation, a charity that Depp has previously been associated with. The non-profit organisation takes up children who have been diagnosed with life threatening ailments and honours them by making short films with them and their movie actor of choice. Another foundation founded by Paul Newman, The Painted Turtle will benefit, which also helps children get camping experience to take their mind off their illnesses. Indigenous communities in the Amazon will also benefit from the charity proceeds.
