The director's post sparked excitement among fans, especially as it arrived amidst speculation about the director and his brother, Anthony Russo returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to helm the upcoming 'Avengers 5' and 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.

Sharing photos with Priyanka from the 'Citadel' press tour and a candid selfie from a Jonas Brothers show, Joe captioned the picture saying, "Happy Birthday to my birthday twin! @priyankachopra."


The post, quickly garnered attention from fans, speculating about a potential collaboration for the upcoming 'Avengers' movie. Fans took to the comments to urge the director to cast PC as a Black Widow variant in the upcoming 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.

Another went ahead to suggest, "Priyanka Chopra as black widow from alternate universe."

Others didn't seem to make much of the post, suggesting that the two are working together on 'Citadel Season 2' that will reportedly begin production soon. "She was in Citadel which was written by the Russo Brothers! Remember? She's her colleague basically!"

Reports on Thursday claimed that Joe and Anthony Russo are set to reassemble the Avengers once again as they are in early discussions with Marvel Studios to direct the next two movies. The Russos brothers, who made their Marvel debut with 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' in 2014 and went on to direct Marvel’s biggest hits ncluding 'Captain America: Civil War' (2016), 'Avengers: Infinity War' (2018), and 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019). Collectively, their Marvel films have grossed $6.681 billion, with Endgame standing as the second highest-grossing movie of all time globally, earning $2.79 billion.
