Jimmy Kimmel heads towards Nicole Kidman as if to ask her a question during the Oscar ceremony, then veers off towards Jessica Chastain

Jimmy Kimmel, the host at the 2023 Oscar show was going around in the aisles asking questions from celebrities. In one of his question rounds, he zeroed in on Malala Yousufzai, an activist and a Nobel prize winner and asked her a pointless question about the drama, Don’t Worry Darling. He then picked on Colin Farrell’s accent that he had to put on for his role in The Banshees of Inisherin for another funny question designed to rouse laughter.
Kimmel then walked to the far end of the aisle and seemed to be making a beeline for Australian star Nicole Kidman, and the camera panned on her bracing up for the question. But at the last moment, he picked on Jessica Chastain who was seated in a row behind Nicole.

Viewers watching the entire drama on their TV screens couldn’t decide whether she was relieved or if it was a snub. Was Nicole happy to have avoided the spotlight or was she disappointed? She had looked up at Jimmy Kimmel expectantly, then when he unexpectedly announced that the next question was for Jessica Chastain, she turned to the person seated next to her and apparently laughed off the moment.

Jimmy was reading from a set of cards in his hand, so was his walk towards Nicole also on the cards? The drama at the Oscar's never ceases to engage.
