Contrary to the action genre being thought of as men-centric, this latest flick promises to give women a special treat as well. It’s not just heavy action, but also some rib-tickling comedy. Fox Star Studios’ latest film,The A-Team, which releases today, is an action-comedy packed with enough adrenaline pumping, jaw dropping action sequences. Based on the hit TV series of the 1980’s, The A-Team follows the exciting and daring exploits of a colourful team of former Special Forces soldiers, who were set up for a crime they did not commit.
Director Joe Carnahan says, “The idea was to make a compelling, inventive action movie, but to keep it as emotional, real and accessible as possible. So with camaraderie and humour being at the heart of it, there’s also a lot of action, drama, adventure and intensity.”
And if the women have started thinking they’d lose their men to this gun-battle, well girls, think again. There’s a shirtless, yummylicious,
Bradley Cooper, fighting the baddies and jumping off helicopters, apart from his sizzling chemistry with
Jessica Biel. Says Bradley, “This is a huge tent pole action movie, where we have done outrageous things like having a tank falling off an airplane. I’d never worked on a movie like that so it was like a dream come true for me.”
Jessica Biel, who plays the role of a military captain in the film, is equally excited. “We’ve done something really smart and interesting and create a character that women would want to come and see, women can relate to, women will be proud of. To me that’s a woman from 2010, right? We can’t have a woman that is less.
