Jason Momoa raises concerns over 'Aquaman' franchise futu​re

Jason Momoa recently graced the L.A. fan screening of 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' alongside director James Wan. However, the 44-year-old actor's optimism about the franchise's future seemed to wane in light of uncertainties amid changes at DC Studios.


During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jason Momoa candidly shared his reservations about the fate of the Aquaman series, acknowledging the challenges ahead. Expressing his attachment to the character, he conveyed a sense of apprehension, stating, "I don't necessarily want it to be the end… [but] I don't think it's really, like, a choice."


Citing the intentions of new leadership helmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran to embark on a fresh direction, Momoa hinted at potential obstacles for the continuation of the Aquaman narrative. He elucidated on the pivotal role audience reception might play in determining the series' future, emphasizing, "The truth of it is, I mean, if the audience loves it, then there's a possibility."


However, amidst his fondness for the character and his aspirations to continue portraying Aquaman, Jason Momoa expressed concerns, remarking, "But right now, I'm like, 'It's not looking too good.'"
