James 'Whitey' Bulger, the crime boss who was the inspiration for Jack Nicholson's character in The Departed, has been arrested He was the inspiration for Jack Nicholson’s character in "The Departed," the gritty 2006 crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese also starring

But life, as it turned out for James 'Whitey' Bulger, the alleged crime boss wanted since 1995 for a string of murders, did not exactly turned out like the one on celluloid.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Bulger, 81, and his longtime companion Catherine Greig, 60 from a residence in Santa Monica, California on June 22 on a tip-off, reported The Telegraph, UK.
Bulger has been indicted for 19 murders and was on FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list. The fugitive’s gang was allegedly into extortion, drug deals, and other illegal activities in the Boston, Massachusetts area.
